The biggest question in life isn’t one to life itself. It’s not even about why the chicken crossed the road, if that’s what you’re thinking, although for some that is a sufficiently close approximation. I think the question that matters most in this world is ‘Will it happen to me?’. That is the one question on which all of human behavior is based, on which all of mans desires and hopes, doubts and fears are based.
A 40 year old man sitting in the directors chair at the office. Will it happen to me? A Maybach cruising by as you struggle with your gearshift. Will it happen to me? A reminiscent smile for no reason in the middle of the day. WIll it happen to me? That big promotion that bumps up the perks. Will it happen to me?
A tan on the ring finger. Will it happen to me? A degree, experience, yet no job. Will it happen to me? Nobody to make you feel missed or loved. Will it happen to me?
And the answer to this question at each point in our lives changes the way we react to situations. I won’t get lung cancer from smoking. I’ll make it big in life. I have time, I’ll set things right when I’m older. At each point in our lives, the different permutations of these choices we could have made add up to a different person, a different life and a different end to it all. It’s very dizzying if you try to traverse your life and study the choices you make whenever you ask yourself this question.
What makes you ask this question?

Man, you should get some sleep!
Well..I think one of the blessings of life is not to have more than one choice.
The only thing I would do differently is..not to hurt people ( if I had any )…specially those who were sincere and honest to me and their fellow beings
I dont know if I m quoting this right or not… (I apologize if it is nt correct.)
There was a priest in Austria during the world war 2. When the SS took the jews, he did nothing saying this wont happen to me, Then they came for the weak and still he said that this wont happen to him. Then they came for the Bolsheviks (Communists) and He still say anything cuz he thought this wont happen to him. At last when they came for him there was no one left to scream for help, and no one to preach.
What makes me ask that question?
I guess…its desire…?
I don’t know. Maybe something like that or the other,
I mean the desire to know more.
I am so confusing.
Happiness….will it happen to me?
@Zios: Lol! Yeah, I do need some sleep. That’s one of the many things I need right now
@Safiullah: I’ve heard the same story attributed to many races and conquerers, but yes, it serves the purpose in part.
@Qurrat: I was talking about a different question, about the different choices we make in life based on our answers to a particular question. Call it ambition.
@fairyDust: Heh. Now the decision is yours – what can you do, how can you change your circumstance (or your way of thinking) to make you happier?
