Dear All,
Stop panicking. Thank you. Now, I know none of you have any plans on valentines. And that some of you are gonna be staring at the phone for a long time, wondering whether or not you should make that call that you know is a mistake. Some of you are gonna make complete fools out of yourselves by asking someone way out of your league to be your valentine (Yes, you! You know I’m talking about you, don’t you!
). Some of you are gonna go home, have a quiet meal and then lie to the rest of us the morning after.
I don’t blame any of you. I mean, with all this crap all around you this time of the year, all the pinks and the reds and the sappy songs, weird creepy cherubs, who can blame you? Damn it everything is in reds, there’s a valentines offer on everything from movie tickets to restaurants to gaming shops. Why the hell is there a valentines deal on a gaming shop? Even the center spread on the weekly Friday magazine (which usually features well-balanced fashion trends) has been taken over by lingerie from an ‘Agent Provocateur’. And although you have to appreciate the creativity that’s gone into the name, you have to exercise some grey matter to be able to register that those are nowhere near your scope of purchase.
You see, all these things are going to have a negative influence on your life for the next eleven months, after which you should brace yourself for another bout. So here’s my proposal. Don’t stay home. Don’t stare at your phone, please, because that’s just sad. Instead, we celebrate. Yes, we celebrate SAD. SAD, of course, being Singles Appreciation Day. We go out, grab a decent dinner, enjoy the company, and we’ll have you back home and in bed by 11. True story.

Dude, again, no! I mean, lots of things make me sad, but this is not one of those things. Last week, they showed this contestant on American Idol, she had spent all her life on a farm and stuff, and when she got the golden ticket, she was like I’m gonna be on an aeero-plaaine. That ripped my heart out. But this is not sad, people, what is wrong with you guys!
Those kinda people are aplenty here. Makes me so thankful for the life i have alhamdullilah!
